Pimpri-Chinchwad, a great industrial hub, also known as ‘twin city’ of Pune, is a small fastest growing city near Pune which is governed by Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). The Municipal Corporation is working hard to make Pimpri-Chinchwad a well-known tourist destination. Recently, PCMC has launched ‘Sarathi’ (a System of Assisting Residents And Tourists through Helpline Information) to boost tourism in this city. Ganesha Temple in Pimpri Chinchwad
It is a 14th century temple situated near Pawana River in Chinchwad. It is said that a Ganesha devotee named ‘Morya Gosavi’ worshiped Ganesha here and waited for the god to appear in front of him. This saint built a Ganesha Temple here and is very famous in Chinchwad. The temple has a peaceful ambiance and attracts many devotees who seek blessings of Lord Ganesh.
Vaishno Devi Temple in Pimpri Chinchwad
Vaishno Devi temple is one of the famous temple which is located Near Pimpri-Chinchwad Link Road. It is a replica of the Vaishno Devi temple situated in Jammu & Kashmir. This temple is in the form of hexagon and there is a small cave at the entry of the temple with ankle-depth water, it is kept to wash devotee’s foot before visiting the god. It is one of the must visit place in Pimpri.
Durgadevi Hill Park in Pimpri Chinchwad
A Durga devi Temple is situated in a hill named ‘Tekdi’ is located in Nigdi near Appugad and here there is a park with 1,60000 trees planted on an area of 75 Hectors with Lawn on 3 acres of land. This park also has floating fountain and Waterfall which adds more beauty to the park. This Park is well maintained and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has declared the area of this hill park as plastic free zone. It is a wonderful place to visit. This park is open to public between 11am to 6pm on all days with an entrance fee of Rs.10 for adult and Rs.5 for children.
Bhakti Shakti in Pimpri Chinchwad
Bhakti (Spirutialism) Shakti (Power) is a wonderful place with collection of statues installed in it. It is situated in Old Mumbai Pune Highway in Pradhikaran near Nigdi in Pimpri Chinchwad. It is said that, Bhakti Shakti is installed in the memory of the meeting of Tukaram Maharaj and Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. There are two main statues of Tukaram Maharaj and Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj each with 20 foot tall and the other statues are with 10 foot tall. These fascinating sculptures on the hill rock were in a beautiful landscaping and it has become the most remarkable landmark for Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. It is open for visitors from 6.00 AM to 8.30 PM with no entry fee.
Nisargakavi Bahinabai Chaudhary Zoo in Pimpri Chinchwad
Nisargakavi Bahinabai Chaudhary zoo is a small zoo located in Sambhaji Nagar in Chinchwad, Near Vrindavan. It is previously famous for its snack park and birds sanctuary. This zoo was established by Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and is open from the year 1990. This zoo is always a best attraction among children and has an increased number of visitors every year. It is open from 11am to 6pm on all days except Tuesday with an entrance fee off Rs.2 only.
Pimpri Chinchwad Science Centre
It is a joint Project of Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The main objective of this Science Centre is to collect, restore and preserve historical objects which represent the development of science and technology industry. This Center gives interactive science exhibitions and non-formal science education programs to the people. There are many sections in this center which includes Energy, Fun Science, Climate Change, 3D Science Show facility, Science Park, Dino Park and Taramandal. Among these sections 3D Science Show and Taramandal are very Popular at the Science Park. It is one of the must visit place for Science Students. It is open from 11 am to 5 pm every day except Monday.
